About

HELLO THERE!

I’m Sam & I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m a writer, speaker, and Bible teacher based at the foot of the Colorado Rockies.

It’s been a long time since I started reading my Bible… When I was seven, I memorized the first three verses in the book of Revelation. I had absolutely no idea what I was reading, but it mentioned something about an angel, and that was enough to spark my interest. 😉

But at 19 years old—years after first diving into this book—a freshman-level college course on the Old Testament flipped my understanding of God’s Word upside down.

For the first time, I saw that even though the Bible is made up of many books, they all tell ONE big story: the story of redemption. And while the canon may be “closed,” the story isn’t over…and we’re invited to be a part of it.

This blog is about deepening faith and finding hope through stories that matter. That includes the storyline of Scripture, but also your story—and the two are far more intertwined than you might think.

You see, the Bible speaks into your 21st century life. There’s something for you whether you find yourself frustrated that at 24 years old you’re supposed to “have it all together” (but you don’t), or you’re angry with God for prayers remaining unanswered, or you’re afraid of how unstable life currently feels…

…which brings me to why I’m here.

WHAT THIS SPACE IS ALL ABOUT

I believe the Bible is relevant for today’s people, today’s problems, and today’s world.

I believe that going deep into a passage of Scripture is about more than head knowledge—it’s about heart transformation.

I believe in a God who loves and cares for and interacts with His people.

I believe reading the Bible as one big story changes EVERYTHING.

I believe your story matters.

I believe in the importance of authentic faith—where we do more than simply talk about what we believe, we live it out.

All that to say, whether you grew up with family devotions around the dinner table or you’ve never opened a Bible in your life, I hope you’ll stick around. The relevance of this ancient, little book never ceases to amaze me and I hope to share some of its truth, beauty, and significance with you.
