“Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.”

The past couple days, I have clung so tightly to the words of this hymn.
For a few weeks now, I’ve definitely been feeling the pressure of everything that’s been going on around me. Sometimes I handle it well. More recently… not so much.
I don’t have too much to say on this today, but I wanted to encourage you to join me in living by these simple lyrics.
Whatever you’re going through right now, take a second to “turn your eyes upon Jesus.”
And actually, take more than a second, because at this point, you’re going to want to do more than give Him a passing glance. Instead… “look full in His wonderful face” (emphasis added).
Only then “the things of this earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.”
We can’t ignore what we’re going through down here on earth, but by looking at the world through the lens of eternity, we will have a much clearer perspective.
We will see what is important to hold on to and what is not.
We will see how God is using difficult situations to help us learn and grow.
And we will more easily be able to live by His promises and hope.
Though we may not be able to understand it now, the problems we are facing today can grow strangely dim in the light of eternity.
Today is a good day to turn our eyes upon Jesus and focus on the things we cannot see. Things like His unchanging grace. His constant presence. His beautiful friendship.
So, “…fix [your] eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:18
